Skiing? That’s right, on the Costa del Sol, for a part of the year you can swim in the sea and ski/snowboard on the ski slopes. The Sierra Nevada ski resort, Estación de Esquí y Montaña de Granada, is located 250 km from Estepona, most of the drive can be done via highway. You can ski/snowboard here from December to the end of April.

Sierra Nevada is one of the largest ski resorts in southern Europe, located at an altitude of 2,102 – 3,305 meters. There are 110 km of ski slopes, cable cars and lifts, a snowpark with U-ramp, family zones and night skiing. Parts of the slopes get artificial snow if needed. There are ski and snowboard schools, the equipment can be rented and purchased on site.

You can park directly below the cable cars; the parking fee is 16- 20 €. The price of the ski pass is around 21 – 42 €. There is also a great apres-ski in the Sierra Nevada ski resort, don’t miss the great wine bars and fine dining restaurants. More information on Sierra Nevada website.
